Horror News Round Up Time!

The big story this week was the Prometheus will be released completely uncut and with an R rating in the USA after much fear it would be censored to gain a PG-13 certificate.

Following last week’s drama surrounding the rights to Evil Dead 4, the remake began shooting in New Zealand at the weekend. Whatever you feel about this classic being remade, it does have Sam Raimi’s blessing. He announced at a press conference “I’m really excited to see this story, that I care deeply about, retold by such a fine storyteller.”

Juan of the Dead, which was shown in Scotland at Dead by Dawn this year, will be getting US distribution. Focus Features will be releasing it on DVD and iVOD in August.

Finally, Spence Wright (Red Mist)  has announced his plans for Vampires vs. Leprechauns. The film will focus on “a small Irish village which is besieged by a group of vampires attempting to open a gateway to hell.”
