
First up this week is the news that a sequel to Prometheus has been confirmed. The original made over $300 million this summer and The Hollywood Reporter spoke to Ridley Scott who confirmed that he was pushing ahead to make a sequel. It is expected to hit cinemas between 2014 and 2015.
Next up, the official full length trailer and poster were revealed for Paranormal Activity 4. We’ve been debating this one on our Facebook, discussing whether this is a series which has gone too far, or if there is still new ground it could explore. Let us know your thoughts.
According to the New York Times, Warner Bros has been considering the possibility of a prequel to horror classic The Shining. Stephen King is currently writing a prequel named Dr. Sleep, but it has not been confirmed whether the film is connected to the book in any way.
Finally, we’ve been talking on our Facebook about the remake of Carrie which is currently filming. Actress Judy Greer this week described the iconic pigs blood scene in the new version as “amazeballs” and “Weirdly, it’s kind of beautiful, It’s really totally jarring and creepy but also in a strange way gorgeous.” Join the debate on this one too, do you think this is a film that needed to be remade?
